INTRODUCING THE FACES OF WWM

FOUNDER
ASATTAH KENNEDY
When We Met Organization is a community-building initiative founded by Asattah Kennedy, a 24 year old young and passionate individual from Brooklyn, NY. Being from NY has exposed her to so much culture, which inspired her to start her own organization to further connect her people. When We Met is a testament to her passion for helping others and building a stronger community. After graduating high school in Long Island NY, Asattah ventured to Georgia State University where she later received her Bachelors degree. Her college education in psychology has helped her develop strong interpersonal skills, including compassion and empathy, which she has used to help others in various facilities. This eventually sparked the birth of When We Met Organization.

CO-FOUNDER
MONAE SPEARS
Monae Spears is a 25-year-old remarkable young woman who made an impact on WWM since joining as co-founder in 2023. With years of community service experience and a strong network of connections through her sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc, Monae has been instrumental in shaping the foundation of the organization. Originally from Brooklyn NY, Monae attended THE Lincoln University of PA, where she earned her bachelor's degree in biology with aspirations becoming a doctor! Growing up, she experienced a lack of support from those who look like her. Determined to be that catalyst for change, she began her community service journey at 19, along with organizing her first coat drive for Black and Brown communities in NYC. She firmly believes in being the change you wish to see in others. This passion for helping others led her to When We Met organization.
